Sit And Wait
You stay there lost, alone, and fading
I can see in your eyes that you're wasting away
You say that you have somewhere to go
But with a heavy heart, I tell you to stay
I hate to see you hurt like this
The bruises on you break you down whenever you see them
You try so hard to cover them up but
It seems you can't let go of the problem
It's a shadow that follows you wherever you go
It grows, it grows and engulfs you in the fray
It's a matter of time, inevitable, might as well sit and wait
The best we can do is hope it's not that way, that it's not that way
You are so young, so far away from the truth
You're looking for a road to recovery, to stitch the open wounds
You try to get by all by yourself
But walking down that road, you find out it's no use
You're trying to find satisfaction in unsatisfactory things
Trying to find ways out, at least one way out of the vices that hold you close
You say you're in need of something to numb the pain
You say you need painkillers, but maybe you're in need of a love overdose
It's a shadow that follows you wherever you go
It grows, it grows and engulfs you in the fray
It's a matter of time, inevitable, might as well sit and wait
The best we can do is hope it's not that way, that it's not that way
You have to see, desperation comes everyday looking for someone weak to cover
It's something that weakens you, then makes you stronger
You say when you go to bed soon, that it'll be six feet underground
But with just a little faith, you don't have to wait for love any longer
Have faith in me, have faith in me, I won't leave you alone tonight
And after a little while, the scars on your wrists won't mean anything
I can soothe your heart, if you do your part, and let me in
And you'll smile and finally mean it, and you'll see your happy ending
It's a shadow that follows you wherever you go
It grows, it grows and engulfs you in the fray
It's a matter of time, inevitable, might as well sit and wait
The best we can do is hope it's not that way, that it's not that way
