If You Knew
The sea is still,
as the sun starts to rise,
my conscience is already filled,
tears form behind my eyes.
Maybe what goes around,
doesn't come back around,
maybe it's why broken seashells,
still remain on the ground.
You're like a reoccurring nightmare,
the shadows in the dark,
even when you're not there,
you're always not far enough.
Memories deeper than the sea,
waves of uncertainty,
who ever said the shores of love,
wouldn't be rocky?
Oh, if you only knew,
how badly, I fell for you.
I gave you all I had,
took half of me and ran away,
my heart's still ragged,
from the pain you made.
You're like a reoccurring nightmare,
the shadows in the dark,
even when you're not there,
you're always not far enough.
Memories deeper than the sea,
waves of uncertainty,
who ever said the shores of love,
wouldn't be rocky?
Oh, if you only knew,
how badly, I fell for you.
Why doesn't the ocean flood the shore?
Why can't I take this anymore?
Why is that I can still sense,
your fingertips on the door?
Memories deeper than the sea,
waves of uncertainty,
who ever said,
you were the only light I could see.
Oh, if you only knew,
how badly, I fell for you,
someday, I know another sunrise
will come shining through.
