Chasing Fairytales
Sometimes it feels like
The world is out to get me
I’m not built to be happy
Why should I believe otherwise?
Real life isn’t a dream
And you get only one chance
Before it all falls apart
Breathe in
Get a glimpse of reality
I’m just a girl
I’m not a princess
My life can’t change
In the blink of an eye
The wave of a wand
But for some reason I can’t stop
Chasing fairytales
In all the stories
Everything goes right
Before anything can go wrong
We’re all trained to believe
True love lasts forever
It’s all gonna be okay
Breathe in
Wake up to reality
I’m just a girl
I’m not a princess
My life can’t change
In the blink of an eye
The wave of a wand
But for some reason I can’t stop
Chasing...
Happily ever after
And wishing on a star
Holding on to love
Even after it falls apart
Prince Charming doesn’t save me
But for some reason I can’t stop
Chasing fairytales
No one warns us about the heartbreak
And the pain
Or teaches us
How to fake the perfect smile
And pretend like its all okay…
I’m just a girl
I’m not a princess
My life can’t change
In the blink of an eye
The wave of a wand
But for some reason I can’t stop..
Maybe happy ever after
Actually isn’t so far away
And wishing on shooting stars
Really could make it all okay
Holding on to love
Could put it back together
And Prince Charming
Might come back to save the day
It may seem impossible
And oh so very irrational
But I’ll continue to spend my life
Chasing fairytales

"Love is merely a madness, and, I tell you, deserves as well a dark house and a whip as madmen do: and the reason why they are not so punished and cured is, that the lunacy is so ordinary that the whippers are in love too."
