What You Do To Me
This silent war
the constant torture of letting them in
the fight is over, but it’s nearly begun
break me down because your image is precious
but one day they’ll see
yes, one day they’ll see
what you do to me
the painful tears
the ever present fear of getting hurt
we disguise it with angst, and say get out of our ways
so we don’t have to deal
so we don’t have to grow
we can just stay comfortable, and hide the vulnerable
but one day they’ll see
one day they’ll all see
one day they’ll see
what you do to me
what you do to me
this silent war,
this constant torture
will finally be over
once you see what you do to me
