This day
We are standing in awe
We are brought as one
We're now in unison
Not out of pride for what we've done,
But out of love for who we've lost

Shattered;
Broken
We weep, in fear that it wasn't a dream
That one day it may see,
Like no big deal

What are the chances?
Who are the faces?
What could we have done?
How often should we come back to the day,
where we were forever changed?

We have a heart
That is stronger now
Than it was before
We're all genuine
Every one's finding a way to reach out
When holding a hand is the best you can do,
Hold that hand forever
Let the tears run loose

Shattered;
Broken
We pray that we'll make it through
We'll get over it,
Let's just hope we're never ignorant

What are the chances?
Who are the faces?
What could we have done?
How often should we come back to the day,
where we were forever changed?

And there was no warning
Of what this could mean
Of what it could be
It has shattered some innocence,
This horrid incident
We stayed strong
We're still coming right along
All the horror, and tragedy
Has once again made us a unity

What are the chances? Who were the faces?
What could we have done?
How often should we come back to the day,
where we were forever changed?

Yes, we are forever changed.

The author's comments:
It was something that happened during nap time, during our chemistry exam, during our doctor's appointments; This is one of the biggest losses of American history, and WE were the generation that experienced it. It may not have physically affected you or your family that day, but some emotional strings will be tugged when we think about the day our lives were forever changed, September 11, 2001.
