My Friend
(Verse 1)
My friend was there when I was born.
He was more than a big brother.
My friend saw my heart was torn,
when my boyfriend and I were no longer together.
My friend know everything about me.
I can’t keep anything from him.
Only some people can see,
there’s only one person like him.
(Chorus 1)
Is my friend real?
Or is he just in my head?
My friend loves me this I know!
He knows how I feel,
and every word I will write, and have said.
(Verse 2)
As a teenager I remember,
not spending much time with my best friend.
Although, I do sadly remember,
texting late every night to my now ex-boyfriend.
After high school my friend,
came over to talk to me.
He told me he still wanted to be my friend,
and that he did not want to lose me.
(Chorus 1)
(Verse 3)
We parted and I went my own way.
I occasionally thought about him.
One day I called to say,
that I wanted to see him.
My friend was glad,
to hear from me again.
He showed me the way to his house he had.
Then I remembered who my friend was again.
(Chorus 2)
My friend is real!
He is not just in my head!
He loves me this I know!
He knows how I feel,
and every word I will write, and have said.
(Verse 4)
I told my friend that I was sorry I treated,
him like no real friend.
Yet as he was nailed to the cross he repeated,
that he loved me from beginning to end.
(Chorus 2)
