Meet Me In My Dreams
It’s a quarter till two,
And I can’t draw my thoughts away from you.
You’ve never been mine,
But still you’re oh so fine.
You’re all that’s on my mind,
I never dreamed I would find,
A guy with such a genuine heart,
But there are barriers that set us apart.
If only we had a brand new start,
But the opportunity has already taken flight,
As I fall asleep alone another night.
When your head’s too heavy to lift,
And off to sleep you drift,
I’ve already been for the past few hours,
In my ideal world where love prevails and towers
And if I had the powers,
I would stitch up all the seams,
As I wait for you to meet me in my dreams.
Every girl’s got her own prince charming,
That comes riding in saving her from harming.
Or a handsome man,
Dark and mysterious,
That will do whatever he can,
To appear smooth and serious.
Or maybe he’s the sweet rock star,
That sings to you while strumming his guitar.
Sweeps you away in his fancy car,
Takes you to the local bar.
But all this is far,
From what is real,
The simple happiness you make me feel.
When your head’s too heavy to lift,
And off to sleep you drift,
I’ve already been for the past few hours,
In my ideal world where love prevails and towers
And if I had the powers,
I would stitch up all the seams,
As I wait for you to meet me in my dreams.
Do you ever dream of me,
And all that we should be?
Or is it time to face the reality,
That I’m the only one,
And you’ve already found someone.
I can’t keep pretending,
There is such a thing,
As our own fairy tale ending.
When your head’s too heavy to lift,
And off to sleep you drift,
I’ve already been for the past few hours,
In my ideal world where love prevails and towers
And if I had the powers,
I would stitch up all the seams,
But I no longer wait for you to meet me in my dreams.
