Winter's Scorch
Winter, it’s raw, frosty, and bland
It leaves a depiction of desolation on our land
Even the birds have adapted to leave this torment
Their knowledge to escape is from their generations of descent
It forces populations to cower
Its very touch will massacre a flower
Only recently have we stopped worrying about its potential
But for some reason we no longer see it’s consequential
Civilizations see winter as cold and look away without concern
But we all know that in our minds it leaves a scorching burn
