Someday
Someday
the sky will fade
and take away
take away all your pain
Someday
the sun will shine
bringing the light
back into your eyes
Someday
you'll smile again
you used to smile at everything
now, the only smiles I see are fake
I wish I could be the one
to cast away the rain
but ordinary people
have no power over pain
And you used to love the Man
who could remove your heart's strain
but I don't think now you even remember His name
You always told me
to take my troubles to Him
but when that didn't work for you
you just gave in
gave into temptation
into all that you once spoke against
So where do I turn
Where do I go in my time of need
since you've given up on God
feels like you've given up on me
I know you and Mom fell out of love a long time ago
You don't have to pretend,
trust me, i know
I know what it looks like when love has come to lost
and I myself am not willing to pay that cost
So, I beg the Lord to mold me into a better person
and every time i just let Him down
I wish you were just paying attention
Daddy, save me again before I drown.

(Back story: My father gave up religion about 5 years ago. Also, I'm in a tough part of my life and-for the reference at the end- I nearly drowned in a pool when I was three and my father saved me).
