Trigger Warning

I woke this morning to find myself
Out of the body I once knew.
It lay on the floor next to an empty shell.
Gun resting in a blood pool.
And I just couldn't understand!
Who had murdered me so?
Was it a stranger or a friend?
Turns out it was both.
For it was I who shot the gun;
It was I who pulled the trigger.
In a haze of depression, I tried to run,
And as I stand next to my body I wish I'd known better.
