Little Girl
I was a girl once upon a time so long ago,
But that time has long since passed.
And I have since then learned to let go.
Goodbye to the old with a hello to the ocean at vast.
People have asked me how it was to be young,
And I truthfully tell them that I don't have a clue in the world.
I know I was little once and then I had sprung,
But the rest is blurry as adulthood came rather too swiftly hurled.
Little girl me must have seen the world in such a different light.
Little girl me must have took on the world without a single reason to live in fright.
But things were different then.
Yes, they were different then.
The world isn't blackwhite,
No, not with all the grays of our time.
And even though I have come to see the light,
I can't help but take notice of the never-ending crime.
