Broken Angels
He’s the one who’s always got
a smile on his lips.
Always ready with a joke or two.
There’s a light in his eyes,
that you can’t help but catch.
He’s cheering you up,
whenever you’re down.
But he has a secret…
and once in a while,
you can see past the mask.
The smiles have faded,
they’re just an act
to distract you from what’s inside.
He’s a broken angel.
He came down from heaven
to help us on earth.
But he fell from the sky.
And now he’s stuck down here
with broken wings.
Cause sometimes angels,
need a little saving too.
She’s the one who’s always willing
to lend a helping hand.
Eager to serve wherever there’s a need.
She has kindness in her gaze,
compassion in her deeds.
her heart is full of love
for all who she sees.
Well, all but one…
cause once in a while
you can see past the mask.
She hates herself
and feels alone
while everyone thinks she’s fine.
She’s a broken angel.
She came down from heaven
to help us on earth.
But she fell from the sky.
And now she’s stuck down here
with broken wings.
Cause sometimes angels,
need a little saving too.
Batter, bruised, and broken
they fell through the wind and the rain.
They have secret struggles,
like battles raging on inside.
They just need a friend,
a helping hand—
Cause they’re broken angels.
They came down from heaven
to help us on earth.
But they fell from the sky.
And now they’re stuck down here
with broken wings.
Cause sometimes angels,
need a little saving too.
Yeah, broken angels,
need a little saving too.

The people who give the most, the ones who love everyone, the ones who seem happy, who seem fine...sometimes they're the ones who need to be loved the most. Thus the term broken angels. They are like angels to us, but really...they're broken on the inside, and they need a little saving too.
