Ties That Held Me Back
Saying goodbye is harder than I thought.
Pictures come and pictures go,
Everything I know is gone.
It's all gone.
Second chances turned to ashes,
And all of my hope is gone,
So far gone.
I let you put your head upon my shoulder,
Though it weighed like a boulder,
But I can't carry you anymore.
Cause I'm not yours.
You keep on pulling me down,
Dragging my feelings,
Clouding my judgment,
Hurting this heart.
So I will be closing this door,
Healing what's sore.
Telling myself to move right on,
Cause you're gone.
Our second chances turned to ashes,
And if our love was meant to be,
Then you'd be here next to me.
You held me back,
And weighed me down.
But look no further,
Cause now I'm gone,
Leaving you softly,
Though it's costly,
Because our love is gone.
