To My Friend
This isn’t goodbye.
No, far from it indeed.
Miles upon miles apart,
You’ll always be in my heart.
Things are different now, dear.
Different, yet clear.
Moving spaces,
Whole new faces,
I’ll see you again my friend,
Maybe over the bend,
But remember my name,
Remember who came,
And gave a helping hand,
To you who needed it most.
Though we’re separated by land,
I’ll always be close.
This isn’t goodbye.
No, far from it indeed.
Miles upon miles apart,
You’ll always be in my heart.
Cause things are different now dear.
Yes, they’ll be different for years,
But I believe in us,
Because we surely must.
Goodbyes are too painful for me,
So when I smile and wave across the sea,
You better wave back,
And keep our time together on track.
