Neverland
I’ve heard so many songs on the radio
About love and loss and life
About young men looking for a place to go
And lack of time and space
But to think about it like a rational adult
Takes far too much time and concentration
I want to wipe all these thoughts from my overloaded mind
And take an eternal vacation
Let’s pack up and fly out of here
Make the moon look small and the stars like specs
Till the air gets so thin we can barely hear our thoughts
Let’s drop everything and disappear
We’ll wind up in Neverland-we’re outta here
Today’s stories don’t belong in my mind
How she left and just how hard he wept
The banknotes are flying, lost in the wind
And the white light gathers to condemn those who have sinned
But to think about it like a responsible adult
Takes far too much care and devotion
I want to shed these rules and break free from the world
And escape far over the ocean
