Save Me
I was there for you when you needed me, through every cut and every scar,
Till you turned your back and wondered off, I can't recall even who you are.
Your late-night screams from the tragic fears of being alone,
Every time I called to check up you shut off your phone.
I understand that the depression you possess is overwhelming like a curse,
But if you deny my help, it's only gonna get worse.
I was playing the hero while you put on the mask of a villain,
And this whole storyline of you and I is starting to repeat again.
When are you gonna come and save me?
I closed my eyes to give you the luxury to see.
You got off of the ground and touched the sky,
Leaving me behind to wither away and die.
I took the chance to help you find your voice,
When you lost yourself in the white noise.
So is this the repay I get for being the helpful friend?
You never get the SOS signs I send.
I saved you, so when is it my turn?
Save me, instead of watching my life burn.
I'm walking on a thin layer of ice about to melt,
Trying to play the crappy hand I was unfortunately dealt.
Spent all my wealth to craft you a safeguarded path,
But you ran in the opposite direction and turned your back.
You're so ungrateful, I drop everything to help you without thinking twice,
Yet you disappear with the roll of a dice.
I gambled and I know it feels like I lost,
Giving away my time, but at what cost?
These emotions you feel, I can't quite understand,
You're dedicated to relinquish them, but with what escape plan?
When are you gonna come and save me?
I closed my eyes to give you the luxury to see.
You got off of the ground and touched the sky,
Leaving me behind to wither away and die.
I took the chance to help you find your voice,
When you lost yourself in the white noise.
So is this the repay I get for being the helpful friend?
You never get the SOS signs I send.
I saved you, so when is it my turn?
Save me, instead of watching my life burn.
What's it like having a compressed brain?
Living with it everyday, having it refrain?
Stressed out from the emotions that cause you pain,
Stuck in depression like a permanent stain.
I would have been there if you'd have called my name,
But it's like what we had isn't the same.
As always though, I'll be the one to accept the blame,
And I'll silently drown in my eye's own rain...
