To a young man without Love
I am barely breathing and knots are consuming my mind
And all I can see is your eyes
While I tremble at the thought of being your phantom,
Your long ago forgotten love.
My body is in pain as a sleep with regret
When I walk down rough side walks
Or as a lulling song plays
as I lose focus
All the noises drown me out
And I can't pretend anymore--
I let it out--
a cup of liquor, for my heart is sore.
A cup of tears, for my soul is tired within me.
I live with brokenness and burns
As gravity wins and my wings give out,
I can't stand in your love;
I can’t stand myself.
I am not Love.
