To My City.
Verse 1:
Tomorrow morning we take off,
Get out of bed at 3:00,
Jump on a plane,
Just to get pushed onto train after train,
Till we hit the city,
Block after block,
As we strut away with our walk,
not even to shy to talk to strangers,
Hour to hour we go to the top,
Empire State is a beautiful tower of hope,
For us to devour
As we scream and shout,
Because we made it.
Verse 2:
We made it here,
To the city of our dreams,
Here we go,
Because we are here,
Because we made it out,
And here we stand,
Here we do stand,
New York,
New York,
Thats so grand to us,
So many things in just two steps,
Block after block,
Oh here we go,
Don’t have to have a car,
You can walk,
Walk away to everafter,
Oh.
Verse 3:
And now we made it,
We are here no doubt,
New York awaits us,
Milkshakes and muffins,
Museums and statues,
Tourists and natives,
Apartments and hotels,
Art and science,
History and writing,
Here we do go.
Verse 4:
Plane ride out,
Friday hour,
I look to the right,
As my tears strike out of my eyes,
I have to go,
I will find a way to say goodbye,
To my city,
My oh my,
I will miss you,
New York.
