the universe doesn't care
We’re intelligent organisms
Living on a huge rock
Endlessly floating through nothing
But with the smallest roadblock
We lose all perspective
And the ball of fire that’s
109 times bigger than anywhere you could ever be
Or the fact that the universe is infinite
And only a fraction of what’s out there we can see
Disappears completely from our minds
Why can’t we see that life goes on
That the Earth keeps turning
That the Sun keeps shining
And we’re all just learning?
Why don’t we understand that
One day the Earth will end
And nobody will make it out alive
So why are things taken so seriously
If we’re all just trying to survive?
Why don’t I understand that my problems
Are trivial to the sun and the moon?
You’d think I’d get it by now
But life keeps going, and I’ll keep waking up
And maybe we’ll never know how

My name is Meghan and I am an overly stressed out human, so I wrote this to remind myself that my problems are nothing to the universe
