I Want You to Know
trying to heal,
but can’t move on,
getting caught up in phrases and songs,
today i’m strong
tomorrow everything is a lie,
endings are a surprise,
can’t explain something you didn’t write,
sometimes the treasure is sweet,
sometimes its a fright
chorus:
I want you to know
what it feels like
to have something be
out your control
I want you to know what it feels like
to live the unknown
I want you to step inside my shoes
look through my eyes
only a few seconds into the future
and I wouldn't be alive
my life flashed through my eyes
and this is what i saw
past or future,
both out of my control,
want someone to know
what it feels like
to hate your life
what it feels like to hate yourself
what it feels like to draw sunshine and meadows
tomorrow to draw darkness and clouds
chorus:
I want you to know
what it feels like
to have something be
out your control
I want you to know what it feels like
to live the unknown
I want you to step inside my shoes
look through my eyes
only a few seconds into the future
and I wouldn't be alive
my life flashed through my eyes
and this is what i saw
a family
smiles in the air
animals runnin wild
the sunset
paintbrushes hittin the canvas
and this is what i saw
i want you to know what it feels like to have percentage of your life,
be in your control
I want you to know,
what it feels like to grow,
and experience the unknown,
I want you to step inside my shoes
look through my eyes
nothing I said seems to matter
since I did happen to survive.
