High School
Four years to find out what to do
What will I become in these next years
Doctor, Lawyer, maybe Scooby Doo
At the end will be many tears
The first year full of must do’s
The list gets bigger everyday
Full of dreams come true
Weird friends like ones that say moo
You can March, Cheer, or say Batters Up!
Our heads lift with every step
Basketball players getting every lay-up
Cheerleaders lifting our pep
Examining our education up and down
Going down every winding road
But we have fun at Prom in our gown
Even hoping for some white winter snow
The years drift by as we laugh
Taking home all the memories made
We learned how to finally graph
Even getting calculators to our aid
Writing for colleges to accept
Walking down the hall to our next class
Trying to learn for our ACT prep
Remembering we had to ask for a hall pass
Walking with pride from our accomplishments
As we say goodbye on the last day
Small talk or maybe a compliment
Thinking of goodbyes to say
