Red Wood
The tree was new,
It was just a sprout,
And though the wind blew,
The trunk never gave out,
For one day it knew,
It would be a tall redwood,
The tree knew it would be true,
The tree knew that it could,
The tree was a few years old,
And though life had thrown it thunder and rain,
The tree stood strong and bold,
For the tree could bare the pain,
The tree knew that one day,
It would be strong and tall,
It would be okay,
Soon the tree could tower over all,
One night a storm came,
And a few limbs had snapped,
The tree wasn´t the same,
After the lightning zapped,
And though it took years,
And endless nights,
I took the cloud´s tears,
And the sun’s lights,
The child was new,
Just a few days old,
Oh I wish I had knew,
That I had to be bold,
But pure innocence still grasped my heart,
Ane clean thoughts filled my mind,
Nothing tore me apart,
The whole world seemed kind,
Now I´m in school,
Constantly learning,
They made an illusion out of the word cool,
The arrogance has their minds burning,
I know I will be okay,
I will be fine,
But I don't know what to say,
Still praying for a sign,
One night a storm came,
The screams tore me down,
The screams were the same,
But they hurt now,
I know it will take years,
Hold on I should,
This will take the cloud´s tears,
But one day I will stand like a redwood
