The Poisonous Tree
You stood there looking at me
I saw your skin slowly turning green
Why did you have to eat that poisonous tree
You should have known there was no vaccine
But you had to go be carefree
You didn’t have to put on that scene
I watched as you fell down
As the sky turned grey
You turned into the talk of the town
This has been some May
At least you didn’t have to see my meltdown
I think I’ve fallen astray
There you go again
Leaving me to cry
Messing with my brain
I don’t want to say goodbye
I’m thinking over all our memories
While I’m here with my piece of celery
You may be gone but at least I have Eleri
We’ll cry together watching your documentary
I remember your rabbit hutch
Who knew I could miss someone so much
I really hope we stay in touch
I don’t think I’ll need a crutch
There you go again
Leaving me to cry
Messing with my brain
I don’t want to say goodbye

This piece was inspired by real life occurances and how they made me feel at that time, but it was altered so many people could also relate and it wasn't only specifically for my feelings. The reader can change the meanings for the words and make it suit them and how they feel at that time.
