assume the best amidst the worst
Existence is an assumption
Either it is full, cherishable,
or dreadfully void of the reassurance and ebullience that accompany friendship
Melodies birthed with comrades are forever ablaze in my mind
Sharing a laugh was essential when
I had become engulfed
Depression had left me swathed in black,
My eyes enigmatic,
isolated to debilitation.
That girl was someone else, trapped amidst an intangible conundrum.
And with new assumptions came genuine serenity.
