Waves
Surrounding storms swelling and I am caught
It takes control of the image I don
The warmth from light in darkness I had sought
Bypasses attempts to keep holding on
Through the wind blowing round so very strong
We keep memories of a stolen place
Of our special place from our past so long
Caught in silence, an echo lost in space
In front of my eyes my youth disappears
Times of magic, wonder, so hard to find
Take me back, that feeling before the tears,
To before, when to this pain I was blind
Freedom of falling I thought set in stone
It comes and goes in waves, and I'm alone.

This piece is adapted from Dean Lewis's "Waves". I took inspiration from the lyrics of the song and adapted it into a sonnet.
