Beneath The Waves
You fluttered and flapped your wings,
Like honey bees in the winds
of mourning, but love must sting,
So that it will always bring
me to get rid of your things--
But a whisper of the tongue.
And the world did not notice,
When she was shot from the sky,
And fluttered to once 'love sea'.
When she drowned beneath our tears,
Beneath the waves for long years,
Quaint smiles were replaced by
Sounds of grinding iron shears.
But the world did not notice,
The machine kept on going,
And didn’t stop its metal gears.
