From Love to Ashes
My Delly, I confess my passions burn,
unhindered by the pain betrayal wrought.
Although my morals cry, for you I yearn,
as you once yearned for me, or so I thought.
Remember our first date as boy to girl?
Two hands entwined, fates written in the stars.
We lit some kindling, watched the flames unfurl,
no other flames could hold such heat as ours.
I fear that passion lies forever gone,
as kindling dies, reduced to smoke and ash.
Perhaps my feelings too should be withdrawn,
for a relation stained is simply rash.
I only ask your smile stays despite,
so that your heart, another may ignite.

I was inspired by a past break-up. Although her unfaithfulness hurt, I could not bring myself to hold any ill will.
