Flower

Over the hill beneath the grass it lays;

A flower pink and soft as morning dew.

The petals blow in breezes cold and blue.

And now has come the last of all its days.

The flower sinks beneath the sun’s great rays.

A thirst and hunger leaves do feel anew,

And death no thing can dare attempt live through.

The flower’s gone and lost to worlds of grays.

Then water drop is falling fast to touch

The seed to grow and live its beautiful life fresh.

The sapling bursts with happiness and love,

To bring that great, amazing sound of crunch--

And springing from the earth’s dry crust--it’s flesh,

The petals brighter than the stars above.
