Icarus' Truth
I reach my arms to your blistering warmth,
as yours illuminate my blazing skin.
You plead and beg, “my love, please do come forth”;
an untold tale of woe and holy sin
By your doing, my wings burst into flames;
enwrapping me in agonizing heat.
The scorching wax trailed down, tracing your rays,
The world around, a mirage of deceit.
Just then, I flash a victorious grin,
as I trail down from heavens up above.
Outstretch my arms, curse to the restless wind;
For I never minded dying for love.
Blessed I be to die in your presence.
My final wish: to bask in your essence.
