The Birds' Beauty
I do not trivialize the birds’ brain,
Be that as it may, external beauty charms.
As shades and sparks of colors flutter through vervain,
Light casts a glow among the velvet, feathered arms.
The small wings by grace crown the sky,
And melodious refrains echo in thy mind.
How can one turn such a blind eye?
These creatures' beauty surmount any of my humankind.
And to only admire the mystifying owl
The coarse call of the paint-splashed, red-wing blackbird.
Hummingbird’s metallic buzzing, so small a fowl.
The colors of the paradise before me stir.
But I shall not forget the simple feathers outside my window sing,
For standards of beauty and talent may not be everything.
