Identity
Plump lips lighter than scarlet
With curly hair as dark as night
I take pride in my skin as brown as chocolate
Knowing I was made just right
I am stronger than million pieces of the shiniest Graphene
Letting all the hate slide over my shoulder like a intense landslide
When I walk in a sad room my happiness overpowers like a toxaphene
Making my friends feel like precious gold found on a river’s bankside
My identity is everything
Makes me know I will always be unique
It is what I forever want it to be
I feel like X-men’s Mystique
With the voice to move many hearts
The power to make a change
Creating all the parts
Making a difference past the range
Looking back over how I’ve changed
Still focusing on my destiny
Learning to get obtained
This is my identity
I just hope this poem encourages and inspires somebody.
