Flat
Shadows expose our darkest truths
The harsh white light sticking like glue
And unfortunately shows what’s true
The darkness rises then it scoops
It could’ve been straight but it swoops
The shadow is mean and turns askew
I wish it weren’t so, but what can I do?
Rally the soldiers? Gather the troops?
It simply doesn’t fit!
I want to silence their protests!
I don’t want it,
I don’t like what their existence suggests!
Why do they have to sit, why can’t they quit—
Breasts.
