Turning Fear
My mind deep dives into fearful dark thoughts
The more I think the worse it gets, it’s cold
Like old food that spoils when left unkept, rots
“Overcome your fear” is what I’m always told
Talk my way out of intensified fear?
Tears like a waterfall drop as I try
My menacing conceptions lurk and leer
“Overcome your fear” I hear my soul cry
But intentional action creates change
Trembling forward I feel the unease
I’ve been still for so long to move is strange
“Overcome your fear” I know what it means
Crawl to walk, walk to run you must move on
Fear leads to death, but change makes us strong
