And Refuse Thy Name

A tale of star-crossed lovers

Two should beware,

A daughter that soon discovers

A son that loves in despair.

The feud that scowls in utter spite

Hides a pair in Verona eloped

Here he comes to her balcony at night,

“Deny thy father” for she had hoped.

An elixir of the church is a making of mercy

A daughter’s corpse is to be left about,

Filled to the brim as an act of courtesy

Though a Montague mimics this act with doubt.

Star-crossed lovers of household war,

Alike and destined to be no more.
