Heart. Stopping. Beauty.
Standing before me,
The definition of history.
Its sheer size was incredible,
That visit was unforgettable.
Every arch was built to perfection.
The rising sun appeared, shining at the top.
Locked my eyes, looking only in that direction.
If it was an image, there would be no need to crop.
I thought about its history,
The battles, so much blood & gore.
Of the Roman Empire, this was the core.
How it was built in 8 years is still a mystery.
Just open its doors and it becomes a museum,
I present to you: The Colosseum.
