The trust I put in you back then
My friend, I thought, through thick and thin
Who I believed would never leave
Leaves only memories to which I cleave

I seal my fate with my own words
Summoning my coiled innards
Expelling depression and pain
From your presence, I must abstain

If time could only be rewound
A loyal friend I would have found
Tears to choke back from my throat
Regretting words I shant have wrote

The sobs engulf my dreams with shame
To hurt you never was my aim
Wake to a blood curdled scream
Recognize my voice’s extreme

Jagged edges pierce my chest
Now perhaps I’ll get some rest
Words remembered sear my heart
Don’t allow me to depart

Hoping for a sweet resolve
Jolt awake, silence dissolves
Ripped apart by what remains
All the horrid pain sustains
