It begins at the conductor’s signal,
Flowing forth from each instrument in turn.
The melody rings forth, subtle yet full,
With timbre a poignant color, auburn.
Sympathetic tones mingle in the air,
Unencumbered by harried listeners.
The bridge approaches, so cross if you dare
Onward through the low bass and high tenor.
This music means more to the knowing ear.
Composition rife with imagery,
Like a painting, blending sadness and cheer.
Each crescendo surpasses all worry.
The audience applauds for their own sake,
The gift of music is not theirs to take.
