The Depressed Shepherd In Reply to the Nymph
It pains my heart for you to say
That it doesn’t please you to stay
Sure you will miss some lovely sights
While I’m on my lonesome most nights
Imagine a brushed stack of hay
Touching you in the slightest way
The sun setting above the ocean
Your eyes showing much devotion
If you wish not, it won’t come true
I will try hard not to be blue
And now put my heart at ease
After your choice, I’ll come to appease
While the Shepherds begin to sow
My heart will heal ever so slow
Now your beauty is gone, I might-
Grow blind, no longer able to write
I will love you forever and always
Even during my darkest days
May your soft words be sung
The bells have rung, spring has sprung
Your memory is a gray cloud
Light faded with a bang do loud
When you said all of my great love
Would soon alter, and you wouldn’t move
