The Empty Room
I move all the furniture out
And now the room is bare
I look around and begin to doubt
If I was ever really there
The pictures of my friends aren’t here
But my memories are saved
Even though my bed’s disappeared
In my mind my dreams are engraved
The desk I used no longer in place
But with me is the knowledge gained
I stand at the door my life there erased
And I know a new one will soon be attained
I turn the lights off and walk out of the room
The bare walls waiting, for the next life will come soon
