A Dream
I dreamt I was once more a child of love
My eyes sprung open at first sign of dawn
To raise the shades and hear the birds above
And sing before the nightingale had gone
I called your name and raised you from your sleep
And we walked hand in hand among the stars
My heart the stony angels wished to keep
And with your key my heart was freed from bars
We ran barefoot along the grassy hill
And made a wish to stay forever young
When soon we heard a deep and powr’ful trill
And suddenly we were from this dream flung
And though I wish that I was born anew
I only would accompanied by you
