An Honest Lie
You recently divulged in me a truth
A secret you had kept for many nights
Your cigarette stained teeth concealed your youth
My silence screamed as you turned out the lights
My angry tears first forced me not to see
Your body vanished at the time of dawn
And though forgiveness would not set you free
I always craved your touch when you were gone
But who am I to judge your sweet mistakes
When every honest lie will soon decline
It is the fate of every human race
To change, revise, and alter our designs
And though I wish you told me this before
Your honesty I cherish evermore

Those fifteen words say so much. It's great that you could take a les than to be desired situation, or reality from your life and turn it into something special that can teach a lesson and help other people deal with their own truths. I think it's great you/the narrator is appreciating his honesty. :) I hope you keep writing.
