Yearnings of a Broken Heart
Here I sit with my broken shattered heart
A scratched record, it skips with each beat
My dark time spent alone tears me apart
To love someone like you is quite a feat
Tears run like rain; loneliness consumes me
Your fading memory is all I have
If only now you would set me free
I had been ridiculously naive
But too late now I realize the error made
You simply can't mend a broken record
I held on for so long; for that I paid
My skipping heart, I dream to fast forward
So though I doubt your possible return
Forever long, for always I shall yearn
