Sunset
A gold ray beams quite bright across my face,
The warmth envelops both my mind and soul-
Brings memories I wish to not erase,
Yet bitter sweet, though, is the sky’s cajole.
Entwined are we, together form a spark,
Your radiance protecting me from shade:
And leaves behind loves one and only mark
A tender smile, one cannot evade.
Although you stay a-lit for evermore,
As I subsist on land, laying stalemate,
The fact the world must turn I do deplore-
Alas! You disappear, thus I await.
Alone all night I pray that darkness wane,
For fear I never see that light again.
