Swan Song
The lonely swan sat quietly on the sand,
Then waded through the pond he called his own.
He tried to find the song that he had lost,
For its the reason why he's not yet flown.
He padded along to the beat of fish,
And even crows and vultures had their voice.
He wallowed into and out of the shade,
The poor swan had no reason to rejoice.
He waddled through a swamp one lucky day,
To find a friendly hippo had his song.
He asked the hippo to return his voice,
He told the hippo taking it was wrong.
The once lonely swan flew into the sky,
But not before he said farewell, so long.
