to the strong
To those whose strength is greater still than mine,
And hearts, more broken, healing stronger yet
The souls, invented, do not fade with time
through perils, tests, and epic battles yet.
Each has beauty clear as night and day
strength and skills to match their endless eyes,
feelings passed through words they do not say
and instances we glimpse through their disguise.
In moments, they are soft and hurt as we,
their pain is ours as we watch them unfold
as clever, tough, and awful bravery
They find themselves, and choose a hand to hold
To feel close to perfection, we can sing
the stories in which heroes do take wing
