by the tracks
I lost my heart by the train tracks
on a salubrious summers night
and the metal, it glimmered like a secret,
as the Moon glared, mocking ,uncontrite .
my fingertips are dusty with the stain of memories
of a girl, beautiful as an angel, tragic like a hero,
dark hair flying, face incandescent, on her knees,
calling to the silver hulk gliding closer, and onlookers,
horrified, begin to scream
and I, G****** me, I thought it was all some dream
first she was there, scared, anticipating, kneeling,
then, a pile of guts and blood and bones, peeling,
and I, I will never forget you
and I, I wear you on my sleeve
and my heart, it was crushed right beside you
and now, you are things I can never retrieve.
