Petals
Tears that jade made my happiness emerge...
This cloak of darkness hides them from all eyes.
A scream from midnight reaches me to purge
This restfulness from my strategic lies.
Dear God, please hold me closer or I'll fall;
Dear Demon, let me stagger from your shouts.
This ache is muting every sounding call,
And shreds my spirit from the inside out.
"I'm on my way," but something told me, "Stay."
My arms reached out, but something pushed them down.
I picked a rose, but it withered away,
And left me with some petals on the ground.
"I can't do this alone, so please don't go,"
"These things cannot be forced, child. Let it go."
