Damage
Your tears feel warm as they fall on my forearm
I hold you close as to keep you warm
Letting my tongue choose the words
Though, I know they still stung
You broke free like a wave from the shore
I knew my heart tore
The gates of my mouth were rusted steel
For no words could heal
The damage done
Seeing in your eyes how your world spun
Our hearts so devious
We always look onto the previous
All this time I’ve been spending
I just want a happy ending
