Love and War
All’s fair in love and war, all chance and games,
We stand as lovers, side by side, hold hands,
With murmurs trading secrets, worries, names,
Together, laughing, finding Neverland.
In love, we smile under painted trees,
Amidst the birds that add to Spring’s sweet song,
A perfect string of dreams and hope, of you and me,
Of how we kept our strong, picked right from wrong.
But sometimes, I feel war erupt in flames,
And we turn into soldiers shooting lies,
Until we’re sick of all this guilt and blame,
And wipe our bloody hearts with strained goodbyes.
My love, my all, but nothing’s mine in war,
You made it clear last time you slammed your door.
