"The One Who'll Never Leave"
Her six-year-old heart was breaking inside,
With pain that she could not yet pacify.
The dreams that she had were once more denied
And she could not help but cry out “God why?”
“Pack up we’re leaving,” still rang in her mind,
As so many thoughts ran wild in her head.
Now looking back, if she could press rewind,
She’d not have left her love for him unsaid.
Many a tear-stained pillowcase later,
She acknowledged that still small whispering,
And finally heard Him beckon to her
“Come now dear child, for to Me you can cling."
And now she knows it’s not just make-believe;
He’ll always be the One who’ll never leave.
